Stream random video chat to your audience
Connect VideoTalk to OBS as a browser source and stream your random chat sessions live on Twitch, YouTube, or Kick. Your audience watches as you meet strangers — with built-in consent and safety.
How it works
Enable Stream Mode
Toggle Stream Mode in your chat controls. A unique OBS browser source URL is generated for your session.
Add to OBS
Paste the URL as a browser source in OBS. Choose a layout: side-by-side, picture-in-picture, or streamer-cam-only.
Go live
Your audience sees a clean, branded video layout. Partners are notified they're on a live stream.
Consent & safety first
Streaming strangers raises real consent questions. Here's how we handle it:
Partner notification
When Stream Mode is active, your chat partner sees a visible badge: “This call may be streamed live.” They can leave at any time.
No hidden recording
VideoTalk never records streams. The OBS browser source renders what's already on screen — no secret capture.
Moderation still applies
Streamed sessions are subject to the same AI moderation and reporting as all other sessions.
Premium+ required
Stream Mode is a Premium+ feature. Streamers must have a verified account, reducing anonymous abuse.
OBS layouts
Side-by-side
Both video feeds displayed equally in a 16:9 frame. Ideal for conversational streams where the audience sees both participants.
Picture-in-picture
Your camera is large, your partner is in a small overlay. Keeps the focus on your reactions while showing the conversation.
Streamer cam only
Only your video feed is shown. Audio from both participants is included. Best for privacy-conscious streamers.
Included with Premium+
Stream Mode is available on the Premium+ plan ($9.99/mo) and the Lifetime plan ($49.99 one-time). Both include everything in Premium, plus:
- OBS browser source with custom layouts
- Partner consent notification system
- HD video priority
- Custom chat themes
- Icebreaker control (disable auto-prompts)
- Connection history
Streamer FAQ
Do I need to tell my partner I'm streaming?
Yes. When Stream Mode is active, your partner sees a visible badge indicating the call may be streamed. They can leave at any time.
Can I record my streams?
The OBS browser source renders what's on screen. Any recording is done through your streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs), not by VideoTalk. You are responsible for complying with your platform's recording policies.
What if my partner doesn't want to be on stream?
They can skip to the next person at any time. The consent badge is always visible, and no one is forced to stay on a streamed call.
Is Stream Mode available for free users?
Stream Mode requires a Premium+ or Lifetime subscription. This ensures streamers have verified accounts, which improves accountability and safety.
